The second level of Reiki is for those 1st Degree Reiki practitioners who
wish to deepen their experience of and commitment to using Reiki in their
lives.
Typically
in traditional Reiki there is a wide range of 1 month, 6 months, 1 year and even many
years between Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 training, as readiness for Reiki 2 is individual. I myself took Reiki 2 training one month after my 1st Degree Reiki Class and
I recommend the intensity of this particular timing for Reiki 2 to my
students and generally schedule my Reiki 1 classes so that a Reiki 2
training is available one month after completion of 1st degree therefore
I offer this
Reiki 1 & Reiki 2 Intensive
option.
The 2nd degree Reiki class includes three additional initiations
by the Reiki master and instruction in and discussion of the conscious use
of the three Reiki symbols that amplify the harmony, synchronicity, flow and
intensity of the transfer and embodiment of Reiki energy. These symbols
enable the 2nd degree student to send energy treatments through space
and time. The traditional fee for Reiki 2 is $500, but no one should ever
be discouraged from asking for Reiki 2 because of current financial lack
or shortfall. The deposit for any Reiki 2 class is $200 per participant.
Exchanges will always be considered. Be creative! Make a proposal! Cancer
patients and cancer health care providers and staff are especially invited
to take any Reiki 2 workshop .
What
is essential in the Reiki 2 initiation is the coming together in time and space of
symbols, mantra and an initiating master capable of
transmitting the energetic essence of Reiki 2 to the Reiki student. How
do you choose a Reiki master for Reiki 2? In general we highly recommend
Reiki masters who are members of the
Reiki Alliance.
We also suggest that you can rely on other traditional Reiki masters who can
trace their lineage and in particular their mastery directly back to Hawayo
Takata. These are usually masters who offer straight-forward, stand
alone, single level, no-nonsense, in-person Reiki classes, and whose
commitment to Reiki is long-standing. Reiki Master Claire O'Shea has
been a traditional master in the Usui System of Natural Healing, Usui Shiki
Ryoho, since 1988.
The
following is my method of teaching a Reiki 2 class. During the first session
of the Reiki 2 class which lasts 4 hours, the students are entrusted
with and
taught to draw the three
traditional Reiki 2 symbols.
Then the students are sent home
with instructions to privately draw each of the three Reiki 2 symbols. At the second
Reiki 2
session
of 4 hours that takes place either the following day or
sometimes a week or two later, the student drawings are discussed with them by the
Reiki
master with the student, and further
education about the Reiki 2 symbols and their essence is given. As a part of this second
Reiki 2 session, the Reiki 2 students
may ritually burn their drawings. This is done because the tradition is that the symbols reach
their full power only if they are
internalized, and used only in the traditional way,
i.e., from memory.
Full traditional Reiki treatments
using the three Reiki 2 symbols
are exchanged by the Reiki 2 students and the Reiki master.
During
the three Reiki 2 initiations, the primary role of the traditional Reiki master
is to share the ceremonial act of energy transfer and empowerment with each student. Through out
each Reiki 2 class, the traditional Reiki master also shares his or her own
personal knowledge
and years of experience in using the Reiki 2 symbols with each student and
encourages and personally mentors each student's practice of
the second level of Reiki. By the end of the Reiki 2 class, the
students receive 3 initiations and are certified by the Reiki master
as Reiki 2 practitioners.

2 class
