	I have been teaching and practicing Reiki as an Usui Reiki Master since 1988. My specific Usui Reiki lineage is as follows: Mikao Usui --> Chujiro Hayashi--> Hawayo Takata--> Phyllis Furumoto--> Florance O'Neal --> Mathew Eliot--> me. I first joined the Reiki Alliance in 1989 and am currently a member of that organization. I have also trained in Jikiden Reiki, a Japanese Usui Reiki method and I am a a fully certified Jikiden Reiki Shihan or teacher and am associated with Jikiden Reiki Kenkyu Kai (Jikiden Reiki Institute) in Kyoto, Japan. My Jikiden Usui Reiki lineage is: Mikao Usui--> Chujiro Hayashi--> Wasaburo Sugano--> Chiyoko Yamaguchi--> Tadao Yamaguchi--> me. Chiyoko Yamaguchi began studying Usui Reiki from Chujiro Hayashi in 1938 when she was 17 years old. She took Shoden - 1st level and Okuden - 2nd level from Dr. Hayashi and was attuned as a Shihankaku and Shihan by her uncle Wasaburo Sugano one of Hayashi's Shihans or Reiki Teachers. Chiyoko Yamaguchi practiced and taught Usui Reiki for 65 years until her death in 2003. Her son Tadao Yamaguchi now teaches Jikiden (which means "directly handed down") Reiki which is the form of Usui Reiki that his mother taught him. I learned all levels of Jikiden Usui Reiki directly from Tadao Yamaguchi. How do you choose a Reiki Master or Reiki Teacher or Shihan to take Reiki classes from? I suggest that you can rely on those teachers who can with integrity trace their lineage back to Mikao Usui. These individuals offer straight-forward, stand alone, no-nonsense Reiki classes and have a long-standing commitment to Reiki. I am an Usui Reiki Master in a the Usui System of Natural Reiki Healing -- Usui Reiki Ryoho--that was brought from Japan and Hawaii by Hawayo Takata and a member of the Reiki Alliance, which I first joined in 1989, I offer both the Usui Reiki that I first learned in 1988 and Jikiden Usui Reiki seminars that I studied in 2009 and 2010. What do the individuals I treat with Usui Reiki and who take my Reiki classes have in common? I usually see a basic compassionate interest in healing others and self. My CA-125 count was 1500 (0-30 is considered normal). My cancer had metastized to my left lung which had filled completely with pleural fluid. All of the other organs normally on the left side of my body including my heart were pushed to the right hand side. I underwent multiple thoracentesis, paracentesis, extensive debulking surgery, and chemotherapy. Then I participated for 2 years in a double-blind drug trial. Throughout all this time I received an unquantifiable number of distant Reiki treatments from fellow Reiki teachers. As a result I believe I have been in complete remission from my cancer for 6 years and my current CA-125 count is 6. Although some might dismiss my testimony as anecdotal rather than scientific, I would highly recommend Reiki as a complementary alternative medicine to conventional cancer treatment.
